A Few Facts About Sarah Palin

  1. Her husband was a drunk driver who was caught
  2. She lied about her support of Pat Buchanan in 1996 (I don’t care if she supported him, the big thing is that she lied about it)
  3. She and her husband were involved with the Alaskan Independence Party (a party advocating separation from the Union a.k.a Alaska breaking away from the USA)
  4. She abused her power as governor and village mayor (extensive earmarking for the village and firing people she didn’t like as governor)
  5. She used state funds to pay for a lawyer to defend herself against her abuses of power as governor

Now the most disturbing fact among the previously mentioned is the fact that she would consider splitting the United States of America in favor of her state (which was legally purchased from Russia by The United States on March 30, 1867). This type of favoritism and lawbreaking behavior is not one that I would accept as a president of my country; and if Alaska ever breaks away from the Union, we should join together and retake it. The goal of the Alaskan Independence Party taken from their website is below:

Become a separate and Independent Nation.

This is not acceptable, and none of it’s adherents should even think of running as Vice President of the greatest country on earth.

#1 – 22 years ago, one DUI, get over it.
#2 – You say “lied”, she says “neglected to fully disclose”. Semantics. Get back to me when you know the meaning of “is”. :-)
#3 – liar, liar, pants on fire. Newsbusters has the truth here.
#4 – these allegations come from defeated political rivals, hardly an unbiased source.
#5 – common practice in state government; it’s practically a way of life in my home state of NJ.

First and foremost I want to thank you for taking your time to comment on my post. Let me present some rebuttals to your claims:

#1 – A crime is a crime, no matter how old it is. The fact it was 22 years ago means nothing, driving drunk is irresponsible and deadly.

#2 – So she abstained from telling the truth… truth about her support for Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. Why?

#3 – I did not say she was a member, I said she was involved, which she was. She has cheered the work of the AIP (the one “deciding” on whether Alaska should secede from the United States). Her husband, Todd, was a member of the party for seven years.

#4 – Your argument points at the source of the allegations, not at whether or not those allegations are true or false.

#5 – She used state funds to hire a private attorney spending $95,000 to defend herself against accusations of abuse of power, which in itself is an abuse of power. Whether or not your state indulges in that sort of behavior is irrelevant.

#1 – DUI is not a “crime”; it’s a traffic violation. Only the neo-prohibitionists at MADD would consider DUI the moral equivalent of a felony.

#2 – is it relevant to her candidacy for VP now? I say no.

#3 – she attended a meeting, in her capacity as a candidate for governor. That’s not necessarily an endorsement. What her husband may or may not have done is irrelevant. Many couples have differing political affiliations.

#4 – specious allegations are a fact of life in partisan politics.

#5 – Do you work for the Alaska attorney general’s office that you can so unequivocally state what she did was an “abuse of power”? Every state defends their elected officials in investigations regarding their official duties.

#1 – Driving under the influence is a criminal offense and of course a traffic violation, check out
    http://www.dms-lawyer.com/area/drunk.shtml
    http://www.abtlaw.com/dui-crime-definitions.html

#2 – Abstaining from letting the American people the truth is ALWAYS relevant

#3 – Did you even listen to what she said to the group, and how she praised it? I think not. Her husband and her are one, according to the laws of marriage (which she supports in a traditional Christian way). That means that what her husband does IS related to her.

#4 – I stand by my first rebuttal

#5 – No I do not, but I agree with those that label it as such.

Chris is one of those “patriots” that doesn’t give a damn about how much of a criminal, or how incompetent, his heroes are as long as they spew the wingtard talking points about “libruls” and Jesus. It is perfectly fine for his kind for traitors to hold the highest office in the land; after all, they’ve worshiped two of the biggest traitors this country has ever seen for 8 years now.

Don’t bother him with facts. Facts aren’t what his kind want to talk about.

Sarah Palin has many personal scruples, and is perhaps the least qualified candidate for VP in the history of the United States. The only reason media does not attack her too harshly is that they fear being seen as sexist etc.

This is the United States of America, and we deserve the best leadership, not a “new” or “unprecedented” leadership. McCain choosing a woman unqualified for the position based on her ability to draw votes is regrettable.
