What is Hakka?

Hakka is the Hakka way of saying Ke Jia, or “guest”. The capital of Hakkas is Meizhou, also known as Meixian. Hakkas are famous for communal living, and old Hakka structures are circular and often house multiple generations under one roof. The language is harsher than Mandarin, but the people seem to follow the rules and act in a civilized manner.
