Dollars Don’t Come From Heaven

This is something the people need to figure out, and soon! By accepting and asking for Federal money at every level for every grievance what in fact happens is more bureaucracy to distribute the money in the most inefficient way possible and more money printed from the Federal Reserve which only benefits the select few that receive the money and harms everyone else that uses the US dollar. Inflation is a tax, pure and simple. The money gets used up at a higher value at the higher levels such as payment of the bureaucracy, military, ill-conceived and mismanaged federal health-care system (Medicare/Medicaid/ETC.) and ends up lowering the value of money at the lower levels (such as driving the price of gas and groceries up). In addition to the money that is asked for by citizens, there is also a huge sum of money being directed towards paying off foreign governments such as billions for Pakistan, Israel, Jordan, etc. which are used almost exclusively to buy military armaments.

A trillion dollar bailout and tax increases will put a strain on the backs of the working man, and while it might for the short term seem to benefit the economy – in the long term the effects will be less salubrious. What has happened in effect is the shift from a free market democracy to a socialized limited democracy, simply look at the Wikipedia definition of socialism and you will see I’m right. Sure, in comparison to driving the government should definitely keep you from drinking and driving. However, the government should not tell you where to go, what kind of car to drive, what color, etc. Basic rule of law, keeping the streets safe, is worth paying for. However, it is certainly not worth paying to house and feed illegal immigrants, their medical expenses, and for some their jail costs. It is not worth paying to bail out companies which according to the free market should have been gone by now.
